Webmaster - His duties and ethics

It’s a term that is used frequently, but can mean very different things to different companies and individuals. Of course, at first glance, it would appear that a webmaster is “a master of the web,” and in many cases this is correct. But a webmaster is much more than simply lord of his domain.

The most formal definition claims a webmaster is a person employed to design, develop, market, and maintain websites. Remarkably, this overly simplistic definition is completely inclusive of all that a webmaster does in fact do in the course of his daily business – be it self-employed or as an employee of another individual or company.

What is a Website?

To say a website is an online business is too limiting. The same can be said for many of the other casual definitions of a website. Perhaps, with the number of nonprofit organizations, companies, and individuals using the internet today, the best operational definition of a website would be simply- an online presence. A website is an online presence by an individual, a company or any other entity. A more formal definition might describe a website as a collection of pages dedicated to a similar or identical subject hosted though a single domain.

Designers in Pakistan - A Review

I needed a new site, and like many webmasters, I began scoping through the forums looking for somebody who seemed to know what they were doing. Now, in most cases, I like to work with people that I can easily relate to, and usually those people live in the same country as me. If for no other reason, sometimes I chose a freelancer because the time zones are pretty close together. For this particular site, though, I decided to try something new. I tried web designers from Pakistan.

It may not seem scary to you, the experienced IT professional, but it was a little bit unnerving for me. I’m something of a control freak, so sending my work halfway around the globe to be completed was a little nerve-wracking, but the low cost and professional products these guys had turned out in the past had piqued my interest.
